ACADEMY OF HEALTH SCIENCES & TECHNOLOGY
on the North Middle School Health & Technology Campus.

The North Middle School Academy of Health Sciences & Technology is a school-within-a school serving students in grades 6-8. The Academy offers rigorous curricula and instruction that prepare students for admission to the APS High School Academies of Health Sciences & Technology and, after high school, for potstsecondary programs in medicine, research, and allied health sciences fields.
Middle School Academy students engage in integrated studies, explore careers, interact with health sciences professionals, and have access to lectures and field experiences on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Admission
Admission to the Academy, and subsequent success, will require that students have demonstrated academic motivation, capacity, and accomplishment. In addition, successful matriculation through the Academy will require high levels of student and parent commitment and ongoing academic and personal growth and sucess, as measured against established academic, behavior, and attendance guidelines.
Initial admision to and eligibility to remain in the Academy are based on a portfolio of student, teacher, and parent information that may include, but is not limited to, the following information:
  • standardized test scores
  • teacher recommendations
  • previous academic achievement
  • a personal essay
  • parental approval and commitment to support.
