{Lightning the Way To Careers in Health Sciences}
is an exciting new program of the Colorado Area
Health Center System office. This new program
includes the collaboration of the following partners:
Aurora Public School Distric
Central Colorado Area Health Education Cente
University of Colorado Denver
Commmunity College of Aurora
Metropolitan Community Provider Network
University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora

 

The goal of this program is to RECRUIT, SUPPORT AND RETAIN bright, motivated students from Aurora Public Schools who are strongly interested in learning about and pursuing a career in the health professions. We also want to support those students who may not have the educational or economic advantages to achieve in school and to help him or her pursue the dream of becoming the next doctor or research schientist.

Aurora LIGHTS students will be supportesd by various means through their elementary, middle and high school careers at Aurora Public Schools, through undergraduate programs at the Community College of Aurora and the University of Colorado Denver, and then through graduate professional degree programs at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. These graduate professional degree programs include Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy to name a few.
