Please keep your child home if they are sick with any of the following symptoms:

Severe, uncontrolled cough (not associated with a known chronic health condition such as asthma or allergies)
- Diarrhea (not associated with a known chronic health condition)
- Fever (temperature greater than 100.4°F)
- Flu-like symptoms (fever with sore throat or cough; combination of runny nose, congestion, fatigue, body aches, vomiting and diarrhea
- Vomiting (not associated with a known chronic health condition)
Return to school:
- If illness symptoms resolve completely in 24 hours, student may return to school.
- If illness symptoms have been improving/resolved and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications, student may return to school.
- Examples of fever-reducing medications: Tylenol/Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen/Advil/Motrin, Naproxen/Aleve, DayQuil/NyQuil Cold & Flu, Mucinex Fast-Max Cold & Flu, any Robitussin Cough/Cold/Flu combo
Please keep up with routine vaccinations!
- Students are required by Colorado state law to have a Tdap upon entry into 7th grade.
- Call Arapahoe County Public Health Department at 303-734-5445, visit your child's healthcare provider, or call one of the School-Based Health Centers below to schedule an appointment.
- If non-compliant with school required vaccines (and you have not communicated your plans to get your student vaccinated with the school nurse), students will not be permitted to attend school after November 1, 2026.
School-Based Health Centers
Costs less than $7 for any visit and any medical services given for any APS student and their siblings.

Nurses will answer medical questions, provide care advice, and help determine if you need to see a doctor right away. Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The service is free. English and Spanish.
