I am originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I began my career as a teacher in my college town, Hattiesburg, MS and moved to Colorado 9 years ago. This will be my 7th year serving as a school counselor and my 14th year in education. I have experience teaching at the elementary, middle and high school level, as well as experience counseling in K-8th grades. I am passionate about helping students in my community meet their academic, social/emotional, and career readiness needs. I have two little girls, Emilia & Juliet, with my husband Joey, and a shih-tzu named Izzy. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending sporting & live music events, comedy shows, watching the Saints play during football season–Geaux Saints! I love my North Middle School team & family!

North Edge Characteristic that resonates with you and why:

My teammates say that I best represent humility and ownership. I represent humility because I recognize my own strengths and I always have a growth mindset. I believe there is always room for growth in order to be the best version of ourselves. I represent ownership because I take on my own individual responsibilities to create positive outcomes for our students. I believe I am a part of the most amazing counseling team in the district and we are student centered and consistent with our focus in order to do what’s best for students. I believe the most important North Edge Characteristic that resonates with me is perseverance. I work hard to make my students feel safe and comfortable and I strive to promote positive self-perception through goal-setting and reflection to create successful outcomes.
